Axioms for Curriculum (Team)

1. This week's team Facilitator should create a new thread titled, Week 2: Axioms for Curriculum.
2. In your team discussion forum, discuss the following:
   
   
   • Does your school or system have axioms that support creating a collaborative learning community that educates all students?
   • Is the collaborative process successful? What makes it succeed or not succeed?
   • Is technology used to foster collaboration in your school system, and if so how? Is its use widespread or limited?
3. With your team, identify and describe two additional axioms that relate to curriculum based on your current experience and understanding. In your discussion, be sure to discuss the following:
   
   
   • A broader perspective of curriculum development (i.e., state and national influences)
   • The role of technology in curriculum
   • The inclusion of students with special needs and abilities and how technology can support those needs
   • The role of professional development
     

Team KAMAC : 2 Axioms

1. Curriculum is enhanced by the use of digital tools to facilitate the ongoing process and delivery. A web-based curriculum promotes the creation, revision, distribution, collaboration, and maintenance of a curriculum. Continuous professional development needs to be provided for the curriculum writers and other stakeholders to ensure that the curriculum is implemented with fidelity.

2. National or state curriculum development needs to address differentiation and technology. Utilization of state or national standards would enable the local districts to provide guidelines that would enhance differentiation and assist teachers with technology integration within the local curriculum.

2. Between Monday and Tuesday, individually review the curriculum axioms posted by each team in the Week 2: Axioms for Curriculum whole group discussion forum. Please respond and provide comments or follow up questions, as you deem appropriate.
